Loyalty

Point of Sale (POS) scheme is used for making cashless and cash purchases at specified outlets. The POS PDA is a useful device to maintain records of purchase transactions and upload the information to the server (PC). The authenticated entry of data (using password) ensures the secure management of transaction data.

The POS PDA can be connected to the server through phone line from a remote location. It makes the transfer of data easier.
The Need

To attract customers merchants come up with various schemes and offers to increase sales during festive seasons. These schemes and offers increase the sale in the season but have partial impact on the overall profit. Instead if the customer is rewarded for each purchase it would increase sales and attract the customer again and again. It works well for both the customer and the retailer, where customer is benefited for purchases and the retailer has increased sales.

It is difficult to keep track of all the transactions if the system is not automated. A smart card based solution is thus needed to maintain all the transaction records smartly.
